The
The role of the Center is to initiate and coordinate
the national research programs and to perform high-level research in particular
fields.
Within ICEIM four divisions are acting: Energy,
Environment, Neuroinformatics and Materials.
At the moment, ICEIM participates in 16 international
research projects listed bellow, financed from foreign funding (EU/ESF, EU-FP6,
UNDP, IAEA, and the Governments of Austria and

Additional seven ICEIM Projects, financed
from domestic sources, are listed in the section devoted to the Department of
Mathematical and Technical Sciences.
The permanent staff members of ICEIM includes: six
academicians, two research scientists, three research assistants, two research
assistants-volunteers and one technician. In addition, thirty-five collaborators
from other scientific institutions in
During the last 10 years the permanent research staff
members of ICEIM have published over 400 papers in international scientific
journals.
The Center is a focal point in Macedonia
for the IAEA Electric Power Database and Methodologies and the UNESCO World
Solar Summit Process. Also, ICEIM is the residence of the Macedonian National
Committee of the World Energy Council, and the member of the International
Network of Centers for Sustainable Development. On the national level, ICEIM
has established an open tribune “Challenges and Shadows of Science”, as well as
a reward “Young Scientist of the Year”.
ICEIM cooperates with numerous domestic and foreign research
institutions.
