Соопштение за остварена средба меѓу Македонската академија на науките иуметностите и Бугарската академија на науките
На 19 април 2013 г., во Македонската академија на науките и уметностите е остварена средба меѓу делегацијата на Бугарската академија на науките, предводена од претседателот акад. Стефан Воденичаров и делегацијата на МАНУ, предводена од претседателот акад. Владо Камбовски.
Поаѓајќи од улогата на академиите да даваат придонес за развитокот на општеството, добрососедските односи и пријателството меѓу двете држави, на средбата е разговарано за интензивирање на земната научна и културна соработка. Договорено е работна група, предводена од двајцата претседатели, до крајот на јуни оваа година да ги дефинира конкретните облици и содржини на соработката во наредниот период.

We would like to thank you for your interest in the 35th Meeting of Eastern Alpine and Dinaric Society for Vegetation Ecology. Enclosed you will find some additional information about the meeting. According to the preliminary applications we have modified a bit the program and settled the inscription fee. We tried to keep it as low as possible that allow you to take part. We collected some information about travel to Ohrid, we hope you will find them useful. We would kindly ask you to keep the deadlines. We have agreed a certain number of rooms that will be kept till the date indicated. In case you need some additional information, do not hesitate to ask!

IEEE Notice of acad. Leonid Grcev
The prestigious IEEE associations has named the academy member Dr. Leonid Grcev as an IEEE Fellow effective, 1 January 2013 for his contributions to transient electromagnetic modeling of grounding systems.
The IEEE Grade of Fellow is conferred by the IEEE Board of Directors upon a person with an outstanding record of accomplishments in any of the IEEE fields of interest. The total number selected in any one year cannot exceed one-tenth of one- percent of the total voting membership. IEEE Fellow is the highest grade of membership and is recognized by the technical community as a prestigious honor and an important career achievement. 298 individuals have been elevated to IEEE Fellow for 2013.

Promotion - Vasko Taskovski Monograph
Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts, "Trifun Kostovski" Foundation and "Matica" Press are inviting you to the promotion monograph of academician Vasko Taskovski. The Promotion will be opened on November 7th, 2012 (Wednesday) at noon, by academician Luan Starova, secretary of the Art Department of MANU. Academician Ljupco Kocarev, vice president of MANU will held salut speech.
Statement on the meeting of the delegations of MANU and the Academy of Sciences of Albania
On 14.10.2012, in the Scientific and literary center of the Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts – the house of Urania in Ohrid, a meeting of the delegations of the Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts and the Academy of Sciences of Albania was held.
The leaderships of both academies and members of the Council for scientific cooperation between the two academies attended the meeting. At the meeting, the Council was constituted and the first meeting was held, where the statute and the work thereof was defined. Both academies determined the directions of the future cooperation, and the first step is the publishing by the Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts of the book History of the Albanian People by the author Kristo Frasheri in Macedonian language. It was also agreed the publication of a book about the history of the Macedonian people in Albanian language by the Academy of Sciences of Albania.
Also, within the framework of the meeting, the delegations of the academies, in the presence of experts from the Republic of Macedonia in the field of environmental sciences, discussed the topics for the planned conference between the two academies for the protection of the region of Lake Prespa and Lake Ohrid. It was agreed the conference to be held during September 2013 in Ohrid and Pogradec, and for its implementation, a financial support from the Governments of the two countries, as well as from foreign donations is expected.
2012 Progress report on Macedonia about EURAXESS
The annual progress report on Macedonia for 2012 by the European Commission stressed the importance of continuous investment in innovation and research. Concerning the area of science and research, EC positively evaluated the steps taken to facilitate integration into the European Research Area and to contribute to the Innovation Union. In this regard, the EC highlighted the progress made in the area of mobility of researchers. The EURAXESS project received positive marks and preparations for the national EURAXESS portal and for setting up network infrastructure were noted as “well advanced”. The EC concluded that implementation of the activities should continue until full realization of the project.
Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts is the bridgehead organization for EURAXESS network. For more details, check www.euraxess.mk
Годишниот извештај за напредокот на Македонија за 2012 од страна на Европската комисија ја истакна важноста од континуирано инвестирање во иновации и истражување. Во врска со областа на науката и истражувањето, ЕК позитивно ги оценија преземените чекори за да се олесни интеграцијата во Европската истражувачка област и да придонесе за Иновациона Унија. Во оваа смисла, ЕК го истакна напредокот постигнат во областа на мобилноста на истражувачите. Проектот EURAXESS доби позитивни оценки и подготовките за националната EURAXESS мрежа и за поставување на мрежна инфраструктура се на напредно ниво. ЕК констатира дека имплементацијата на активностите треба да продолжи до целосна реализација на проектот.

Days of Macedonian Science in Ukraine
Starting at September the 10th up to September 14th 2012, in Kharkiv - Ukraine the under the organization of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the Kharkiv National University "V.N. Karazin" and the Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts, a scientific event called "Days of Macedonian Science in Ukraine" will be held. In the frame of the event, a 9th Ukrainian - Macedonian scientific conference will be held. Its a traditional (holding in Ukraine and Macedonia alternatively) is organized by the National Academy of Ukraine and the Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts.
Two important topics are getting under the scope of the event: "Problems of the ethnic-genesis and forming of the contemporary Ukrainian and Macedonian nations" which is held in the frame of the general topic "Ukrainian-Macedonian parallels in the history and the modernity"; "The influence of the modern technologies at the environment and measures of protection" is the second, variable topic.
12 prominent researchers will take a part at the scientific event which come from the Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts, and from other faculties and scientific institutes in Republic of Macedonia, as beyond 20 members of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, university rectors, scientific institute directors in Ukraine...
35th meeting of the Eastern Alpine and Dinaric Society for Vegetation Ecology
We would like to announce that the 35th meeting of the Eastern Alpine and Dinaric Society for Vegetation Ecology will take place in Ohrid (Republic of Macedonia) from 3. – 6. July 2013, organised by the Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts and the Institute of Biology, Scientific Research Centre of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts.
e-Infrastructures for the Macedonian Researchers
Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts, in collaboration with the Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering (FINKI) by UKIM is inviting you ti the Seminary about e-Infrastructures for the Macedonian Researchers. The aim of this seminary is introducing the wide range of researches in the country to the potential of the national, regional and European level, in the field of e-Infrastructures (academic computer network, GRID Infrastructure, high-performance computing resources...).
The seminary will be held in the amphitheater of MANU on 21.06.2012 (Thursday), starting at 9:00 - 13:00.
We encourage everybody to take a part in this event, in order to perceive the posibilities of using the e-Infrastructures and the ways they can contribute to the development of the science in Macedonia.

17th Election Assembly in MANU
An Election Assembly by the Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts was held on 4th of June, 2012, lead by president Academician Vlado Kambovski. Election of full members and affiliated members was done on the assembly. 40 proposals of full member election were submitted by the defined period of time and 12 proposals of affiliated members. 38 of 40 full members were present on the assembly.
