Lexicographical Centre
The Lexicographical Centre was established as a scientific and scholarly unit of the Academy on 28th September 2000. The Centre's tasks are: Bibliographical, terminological and other lexicographical publications.
The Center was in charge of releasing the Macedonian Encyclopedia which, on the basis of a fundamental scientific and scholarly verification of facts, will reveal and present the historical and contemporary entity of the Macedonian civilization.
In the Lexicographical Centre, in addition to a large number of external associates, there are employed: 1 senior professional associate, 2 assistants and 1 technical secretary. The realization of the Macedonian Encyclopedia has been entrusted to a separate Editorial Board.
The Centre is also working on the preparation of a Macedonian Scientific, Scholarly and Technical Terminology. To date some 112 numbers in this series have been published with notes on the printed terminological material. This project is in the charge of the Macedonian Terminology Board, the Linguistic Commission of the Board and some 30 terminological commissions for specific fields. Within this context work is also in progress on the macro-project History of the Culture of Macedonia, of which some 12 volumes have been published, and on research into and a systematization of The Literary Heritage of Slavko Janevski.
